FAMLI,
Inc, a nationally recognized 501 © (3)
not-for-profit corporation. It was founded in 1992, and incorporated
in 1993 by youth advocate/artist Torrence Brannon-Reese. Since
its inception, the Foundation for Arts, Mentoring, Leadership
and Innovation has been in the forefront of a bold
movement to save lives, inspire hope, direction,
and purpose in the lives of all we touch.
"Our efforts guide
youth who live in areas known
for gangs, substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, low graduation
rates (50% in high school) and other social ills. FAMLI's
unique after school enrichment/mentoring program(s) follow
a nine-point curriculum whose essential message is "personal
responsibility".
Our Nine-Point curriculum consist of:Family, Tolerance,
Health, Civics, Career, Economics, Culture, Education and
Personal Responsibilty.
Workshops include; academic assistance in various subjects,
life skills management, organizational skills, dance, preparing
for careers, entrepreneurship, yoga, creative writing, math,
financial literacy, and much more.
We provide gender specific programing, "See
A Man, Be A Man and Princess
2 Queen", in
addition to coed activities.

FAMLI,
Inc. provides dynamic educational and artistic projects
for inner-city youth. The mentoring and after-school programs
of FAMLI work to encourage positive self-identity, build independence
skills, prevent gang involvement and promote safety in the
community.
